Health and Safety (SHE) Trainee apprenticeship

 

Great apprenticeship opportunity to work on McLaren Site in Angel.

Closing date for: 15/12/2023.

 

What is a Safety, Health and Environment apprenticeship?

The SHE Technician will work with the management team of the organisation to advise on the statutory health, safety and environmental requirements.

They will assist the management team in ensuring that the legal and company SHE requirements are implemented. On a daily basis the SHE Technician will assist to develop, review and check on the implementation of safe systems of work, deliver training (e.g. toolbox talks & inductions), investigate incidents, analyse data and present findings to the management team.

The successful candidate start working on Site in Islington, Angel Square Site at 1 Torrens St, London EC1V 1NY, with Contractors VKE Contractors Ltd.

Future of London

Paid work placement in the built environment

 

Future of London is inviting application for 15 month paid training including work placements within the built environment : launch your career in the built environment (futureoflondon.org.uk)

Who can apply?

You should apply for the programme if you: 

  • are from an ethnic minority background
  • can prove your right to work in the UK  
  • have maths and English qualification equivalent to Grade C or 4 at GCSE
  • are passionate about working in London’s built environment
  • can work full time from April 2024 – July 2025. 

Must be comfortable with working in a team and behaving professionally. Higher or degree-level qualifications are not an absolute requirement, and neither is experience of working in housing and regeneration.

Applicants may have recently completed university study or have been working for a few years since leaving school.

Museum of London

Next Gen Creatives

 

2-week paid placement Feb 2024 at the Museum of London. 

The placement will take place 19 Feb – 1 Mar 2024, and is for young people aged 18-25, who live in Islington and NEET (Not in employment, education or training)

We do not ask for any previous experience to apply, just an interest in finding out more about creative careers. You can also find information on our flyer attached.

 

What will happen during the placement?

Participants will work four hours a day, 10am-2pm in person at the Museum of London, and one additional hour of working from home.

The placement will be led by our artist facilitator and members of the Museum of London Engagement Team. During the two weeks, participants will have opportunities to meet and shadow staff across the museum and engage in creative skills trainings, themed around ‘how to create a community event’.

If the participants want to, they can present the work they have created during the placement at our Annual Celebration on 20 March. If the participants choose to do this, they will be paid additionally for their time.

The participants will be paid £1000 for the two week placement, plus lunch will be provided and expenses reimbursed.

This programme Programme is a free interactive course to help you overcome any challenges you face and get into work or education.

Know someone who is out of work or education and needs extra support? 

We are excited to say that of the last two groups to complete their 12 months of ‘Spear Career’ support, 100% and 90% of them were in work, education or training at this point!

What Spear offers:

Six weeks of free coaching within a fun and friendly community designed to:

  • get you into work or education                 
  • improve your confidence
  • help you develop an impressive CV         
  • provide interview training & practice
  • offer job and training opportunities

Followed by 12 months of support including: access to job opportunities, weekly workshops, regular catchups with your coach.

Sign up for Stepping Up

 

Stepping Up is a Level 2, 3-month drama and leadership training programme for 19-25 year olds, run by National Youth Theatre in partnership with The JGA group. Participants choose from either an Acting or Leadership pathway and work to gain an OCN London Region Level 2 Certification in Progression.

Places are available to both NYT members and non-members.

 

To be eligible for Stepping Up you must:
🏠 Live in a London Borough
💷 Be unemployed or earning below London Living Wage (£13.15 per hour) when you enrol on the course,
🎯 Be aged 19-25, or up to 30 if learning disabled. (You must have turned 19 before 31st August 2023)
🏫 You must not have a GCSE or higher qualification in performing arts, drama or equivalent
🎓 You must not have a qualification at Level 4 or higher in any subject
📌 You must have the right to work in the UK OR the right to study in the UK
