 The Council is looking for people to join its Hounslow autism board to help to produce the All-Age Autism Strategic Plan 2025-30, which will be co-produced with autistic people, their carers and partner agencies.
The first board meeting takes place on Friday, 30 May, 11am to 1pm on the 6th floor of Hounslow House, TW3 3EB. There is also an opportunity to join remotely.

 The Hounslow Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy is due to renew in 2026. You can contribute to the development of the next strategy by sharing your opinions through this short survey.
You will be asked to share areas that you think the Council and its partners should be focusing on against the four priorities of the strategy: Start Well, Live Well, Age Well and Healthy Places.
 There have been reports of a particularly dangerous batch of blue recreational drugs in West London recently.
Please remember, there is no way of knowing what is in any drug, or how your body will react. If you are feeling unwell after taking any substance please do not attempt to sleep it off or drink lots of water, seek medical attention immediately.
You can check The Loop website for alerts on substances that are considered to present a significant threat in your area.
 If you are an unpaid carer or look after someone, come along and join the Carers Week event at Holy Trinity Church, Hounslow High Street on Thursday, 12 June. You can meet other carers, enjoy activities ranging from mindfulness to yoga, and learn about how you can be supported in your role. The event is free and there is no registration required.
Harlington Care is also hosting a tea party to celebrate Carers Week on Monday, 9 June at 115B High Street Whitton, TW2 7LG.

RM Partners is offering grants to voluntary and community groups to deliver targeted campaigns raising awareness for bladder, bowel, lung and oesophageal cancers.
Each campaign will require organisations to run both an in-person event or activity and an online digital campaign using social media.
The deadline to apply for the grant is Sunday, 1 June and successful applicants will need to be available for a half-day training session in July.

 Bowling Balls is returning to Holy Trinity Church, Hounslow on Tuesday, 24 June, 11am - 1pm. The event is aimed at raising awareness for men's health and tackling cancer head-on. It will cover prostate cancer, testicular cancer and bowel cancer, including signs and symptoms, screening information and who to talk to for advice.
Bowling Balls is designed specifically for men with learning disabilities and neurodiversity as well as their caregivers. There is no need to book in advance, you can just turn up on the day.

The Whittington Oral Health Promotion team is hosting a session on how to look after your children’s teeth for National Smile Month. It will be held at Hounslow Library on Wednesday, 28 May, 11am - 12pm.
The session will cover the importance of brushing, making healthy food and drink choices, and visiting the dentist. Parents can also get a free toothbrush pack on the day.

 Over 200 people attended the Dementia Action Week event at Syon House last week, enjoying the sunshine with dementia-friendly activities. There was dancing, singing, gentle exercises and more, all designed to keep the brain healthy and active.
The event was part of a series of activities for Dementia Action Week that highlighted the range of services and organisations in Hounslow that offer information, advice and practical support to people diagnosed with dementia, their carers, family and friends.
 Last week, the Council celebrated two years of Healthy Hounslow, highlighting the successes and insights from the past year as well as next steps for the year ahead.
Healthy Hounslow is a partnership between several organisations aiming to support residents to lead healthier lifestyles. It offers dedicated services for weight management, quitting smoking, improving physical activity and more.

Cranford Community College will be hosting a pop-up Community Hub on Thursday, 29 May.
Come along for health and wellbeing advice, a community café, free surplus food including fresh fruit and vegetable and much more.

 The NCT, the national charity for pregnancy, birth and early parenthood, has launched new free, peer-supported infant feeding groups in Hounslow. Currently there are two groups running:
- Brentford Family Hub, every Tuesday, 10am - 11am
- St Richard's Church, Hanworth, every Thursday, 10.30am - 12pm
A monthly online workshop called Introducing Solid Foods is also run by the Hounslow Health Visiting service for guidance and tips on how to introduce your baby to a varied diet. It runs on the first Thursday of every month, 9.30am - 11am.

Every Thursday, FoodCycle and local volunteers transform Bedfont Lane Community Centre into a café-themed dining hall. A fresh, healthy, nutritious and plentiful three-course lunch menu is made from surplus food and served free of charge to local guests at lunchtime.
The Council's Health Outreach Team and Hounslow Citizens Advice also attend on the third Thursday of every month. They join in talking to local people and offering help with housing and council tax as well as blood pressure checks and general health advice.

 Hounslow's Health Outreach Team (HOT) will be out offering free blood pressure checks, BMI weight checks, balance checks for residents aged 60 plus, and advice on health concerns, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, stop smoking services, mental health services plus much more.
The HOT team will be at the following locations this:
- Wednesday, 28 May – Tesco Osterley, Grant Way, TW7 5NZ – 10am to 3pm
- Thursday, 29 May – HOT Shop with quit smoking team, Treaty Centre, Hounslow High Street – 10am to 4pm
- Thursday, 29 May – Cranford Community College, TW5 9PD – 2.30pm to 4pm
