Let’s Talk Programme
Now open for referrals for April 2025 groups!
Let’s Talk is a free 11-week therapeutic concurrent group programme for children and mothers who have been affected by domestic abuse in Hounslow.
The children’s group supports children to process their experiences of domestic abuse through group discussions and activities. The mothers group enables mothers to understand the impact of domestic abuse on their children and how they can effectively support them.
Groups are offered to Infants (school year 1-3), Juniors ( school year 4-6) and teens (school years 7-8 or years 8-9).
Please complete the referral form attached for any mothers and children who would benefit from this support.
Do not submit referrals for victims/survivors who are: high risk, still live with the perpetrator or for children who are in proceedings to be removed from their mother’s care. The children have to be in a stable environment for the therapeutic work.
Please submit your referrals as soon as possible to avoid missing the intake for the April 2025 groups.
Please email the referral form or any questions to domesticabusessupport@hounslow.gov.uk
NCT
Hounslow parents can now access free infant feeding support
A Hounslow charity has launched a new peer support infant feeding service, free for all parents in the borough to access.
The NCT, the national charity for pregnancy, birth and early parenthood, launched a new free peer support service at the end of February to provide a judgement free space for parents needing support with feeding their baby.
The charity has been established in Hounslow for over 20 years, running four free drop in Baby Cafés led by trained NCT Breastfeeding Counsellors, which any parent or expectant parent can go along to for support with feeding their baby.
The new peer support service, funded by London Borough of Hounslow as part of the Family Hubs Start for Life project, will build on the service offered by the established Baby Cafés and will increase the number of parents supported across the Borough. Trained peer supporters will provide support, and evidence-based information in a more social setting.
