SEND Surgery comes to Feltham Family Hub
Our SEND Surgery arrives at Feltham's Family Hub, TW13 5AF, on Wednesday, 18 September, 10am to 12.15pm. It provides guidance, information and support for children and young people living with special educational needs and disability (SEND) and their families.

Get ready for Car Free Day
The Council will take over Hounslow High Street on Sunday, 22 September to celebrate World Car Free Day.
As part of an international celebration of sustainable transport and healthy living, the day will be filled with free activities, including smoothie bike rides, street yoga, walking tours and guided cycle rides on the High Street near Holy Trinity Church between 1pm and 4pm.
Festival of Storytelling in Feltham
Hounslow Festival of Storytelling and London Dreamtime will host a free London Dreamtime Storytelling Day in Feltham on Saturday, 21 September and Sunday, 22 September at The Centre, Feltham.
Come along to learn about stories of different cultures, take part in crafts for adults and children, and share your story.
Mental health support in Hounslow and west London
West London NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) is hosting an event at Brentford FC Community Stadium Hub on Saturday, 21 September where young people and their families can learn more about mental health services in Hounslow and west London.
Join the free event between 11am and 3pm to learn about the different teams in CAMHS and what they offer. There will also be:
- Mental health organisations and charities hosting information stalls
- Various child-friendly activities and workshops
- A panel where a CAMHS Youth Ambassador will be hosting a conversation with prominent mental health advocates
- Free tote bags for the first 50 families with stickers, stress balls and more
Come and celebrate Cycleway 9
Residents will have the chance to experience the borough’s dedicated cycle route with free guided rides of the new section of Cycleway 9 on Friday, 20 September.
To celebrate the opening of the new route between Watermans Park and Alexandra Road in Brentford, the Council is holding an event at Watermans Park between 3pm and 5pm.
Visitors can ride the route under the expert supervision of ride leaders from cycling social enterprise Bikeworks. There will be events and activities on the day, including cycling safety information, games and tips on cycling comfortably and confidently.

Inclusive Employment Forum for local business
Are you a local business interested in inclusive employment? Join us on Wednesday, 2 October between 10am and 11.30am for an Inclusive Employment Forum at London Heathrow Marriott Hotel, Bath Road, Hayes, UB3 5AN.
DFN Project SEARCH (all 2024 graduates pictured above) is a shining example of inclusive internships. London Heathrow Marriott, for example, has seen 61 interns complete the programme over the last eight years, with a 60% employment rate.
The forum will be chaired by West London Business Leader of the Year and Inclusive Employment pioneer Linda Hawkins, Multi-Property Director of Human Resources at Marriott Hotels. The session will include discussion on building accessible opportunities and sharing best practise. Read Linda's story.
Cancer awareness tea party for women
On Friday, 4 October, Holy Trinity Church on Hounslow High Street will host a bingo session aimed at raising awareness of the three main cancers that affect women - breast, cervical and bowel.
The session, entitled Boobs and Bingo, is aimed specifically at vulnerable women in Hounslow who wish to learn more about cancer prevention in an accessible and inclusive environment.
It will cover all aspects of breast, cervical and bowel care, the signs to look out for, information about screening services, and who you can speak to if you have concerns.
Mapping culture in Hounslow
If you are Hounslow-based cultural providers, artists, arts and heritage organisations, community groups, creative freelancers, or a venue that hosts cultural activities, the Council wants to hear from you.
The Council has commissioned public art organisation UP Projects to map the arts, heritage and cultural providers across the borough, identifying where there may be gaps in provision. This research will be the starting point for a new Culture Strategy for Hounslow, being developed by Hounslow’s Culture Team.

New career support for good work
Work Hounslow, the Council’s Skills and Employment Team, is delivering a new tailored career support programme to help residents find good work.
The programme will run over a six-month period, supporting women, ethnic minorities and older people in the borough who are not currently in work. Residents will meet employment advisors every two weeks to explore career goals, create personalised career plans, improve CVs, and prepare for job applications and interviews.

Every year, the Council checks the electoral register is up to date. It is continuing to carry out the checks for this year.
If you’ve not already responded to the Council's emails or letters, a council officer might visit you at home to check your details. To avoid a visit to your property, please respond to the communications as soon as possible to either confirm the letter contains the correct information, or make any changes.
It is really important that you check your details are correct to ensure you are on the electoral register and will be able to vote in future elections.
