Tuff tray activities give children the opportunity to explore and discover independently, whilst developing their creativity and imagination. These activities also encourage group play, building on social skills, confidence and communication and language development.
West Thames College Nursery and Buttercups Day Nursery, Syon Park have kindly allowed us to use photographs taken by Advisors on their recent Pre-Ofsted visits. These photos have been used to create the ideas that you can find by clicking below.

Following the launch of phase 1 of the PDP 3 programme earlier this year, we have received positive feedback from one of our setting managers. Kristy, who is taking part in the programme alongside some of her staff, encourages others to also sign up.
“Our setting decided to embark on the PDP course to ensure we were all up to date with our knowledge and were able to support the children. Webinars are interactive and draw on reflections from that week’s training; small break out rooms allow for great discussions, sharing ideas and practice. The first module, Communication and Language, has been more about us reflecting on the good knowledge we already have as we are a Let’s Talk together setting. We are looking forward to moving on to the next module, Early Mathematics, and hope we will learn some new knowledge and ideas to use in the setting. I would encourage settings to sign up.”

HMRC has produced a video especially for childcare providers highlighting:
- what Tax Free Childcare is
- the benefits of signing up to the scheme
- how to sign up
- how childcare providers can help families with the cost of childcare.
This two minute video is a great reminder for those who have already signed up and explains the benefits of doing so for those who haven't.
