 Support food banks this season
Christmas is one of the busiest times for food banks, and your support can make a difference. The East Riding Food Poverty Alliance (ERFPA) has provided more than 360,000 meals to people in crisis during 2024-25.
The ERFPA welcomes food donations as well as volunteers. Every contribution helps make a difference.

 Help shape the future of Hull and East Yorkshire
Hull and East Yorkshire Combined Authority has launched a public consultation, the Local Growth Plan, to help shape a plan for the economic future of Hull and East Yorkshire.
The combined authority is calling for feedback from residents, businesses and local organisations that will enable them to set clear priorities and commit investment to transport, skills, and place-based projects.

 Nominations now open for 2026 Chairman's Awards
Nominations are now open for the 2026 East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Chairman’s Awards. Each year, the awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding contributions of individuals, businesses, and projects that have made a significant impact on our community.
There are four award categories:

Community – Honouring individuals and groups making a difference

Built Heritage – Recognising outstanding restoration and development

Business – Celebrating business excellence in small and large enterprises

Sport – Acknowledging exceptional teams and talented performers.

- asking friends and neighbours for recommendations and look for well-known local businesses.

 Shape the future of adult social care
A new consultation has been launched to gather residents views on the future of adult social care. The ‘Have Your Say’ survey is a chance for residents to share their opinions and influence how services are designed and delivered.
The survey takes just 15 minutes to complete and aims to reflect what matters most to local people, decide how resources are allocated and strengthen community engagement to help people live longer, healthier and more independent lives.
The closing date is Saturday, 31 January 2026.
