Holiday Access Fund
With the funding secure for 2024, we're opening up the annual 2024 HAF grant funding scheme to start the ball rolling which supports organisations who wish to deliver in all 3 holiday periods. There will be an opportunity to submit your application form on either Monday 23rd October 2023 or Monday January 8th 2024. Those who get in early, will have the benefit of more funding being attached to the first assessment round and obviously will have more time to plan as we appreciate a lot of work is required to deliver a HAF programme. Anyone that has already started their application form on flexigrant will be able to continue to work on this without having to start again from scratch if you don't happen to make the October deadline. Applications will be evaluated by a panel using a scoring matrix which includes assessing healthy eating and nutrition enrichment, inclusive practices and cost amongst others, together with looking at the number of Free School Meals pupils in the area.
As before £150,000 is available per application with monies being available for marketing, food, venues, etc.
This year the panel is particularly interested in teen provision and organisations open to touring the county delivering sessions to families in our villages, as well as supporting those providers who are currently delivering excellent provision. Some activities will never go out of fashion (dodgeball and crafts are keen favourites) but we also welcome new and innovative ideas too, so pop your thinking caps on. We recognise that it is more challenging to deliver 4-hour sessions to young people and are happy to explore the idea of shorter sessions to secondary school aged pupils with you.
For those of you who are happy to deliver at Easter and summer but are unsure when thinking about delivering in the Christmas holidays, please note that in applying for the annual grant, you only need to deliver 1 session to qualify.
If you would like a meeting to discuss any ideas beforehand, please e-mail haf.programme@eastriding.gov.uk and we will happily look at your application form before it's submitted to make it as strong as possible before going to panel. We hope that you enjoy being part of HAF and continue to work with us to build a variety of opportunities for our children and young people in the school holidays.
