Humber Sensory Processing Service
The new Humber Sensory Processing Service for the East Riding is due to open later this year. To coincide with National Sensory Processing Awareness month, the service will open on 1 October accepting referrals for children and young people 0-18 years that have a GP in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

In addition, Parent Workshop sessions, an ‘Introduction to sensory processing differences’ will be available more widely to parents across the East Riding.

Humber NHS Cadet Programme
We have an exciting new opportunity for young people aged 14-16 and 16-18 in both Hull and East Riding.
The Humber NHS Cadet Programme is for young people wanting to learn more about important health topics, the NHS organisation, as well as:
- Develop new skills
- Grow their confidence and meet new people
- Build their experience and CV
- Try something new and have fun
This 11-month programme is in collaboration with St John Ambulance, and consists of 2-hour weekly sessions on an evening. The highly trained and friendly NHS Cadet Team, along with our NHS staff, will support young people through the programme which will be shaped to their needs and interests.

Holiday Activities and Food Programme - HAF
The HAF programmes are for children and young people 5-16 years old who are on benefits related free school meals who attend an East Riding school. There are a very small number of places for children and young people with SEND on the programmes who are not means tested, and these will be offered on a first come, first served basis. Once the provider has reached their quota, they will signpost families back to the schools out website and local offer. Youth Recovery Well-being College Information
We are excited to let you know that the new Youth Recovery & Wellbeing College launches this summer!. We have a fantastic offer over the summer holidays and then move into our term-time young person focused provision.
Who are we?
The Youth Recovery & Wellbeing College is a person-centred community for those aged 11–18 living in Hull and the East Riding. The college is led by young people and explores creative and empowering ways to improve wellbeing through engaging virtual and face-to-face experiences, workshops, sessions, and activities.
What’s on offer?
This summer we have a range of experiences on offer for your young people including informal and fun creative lyric writing sessions, reflective drawing workshops, goal setting through scrapbooking, empowering social media steering groups, confidence building through youth practitioner information, advice and guidance sessions, and exciting ‘Out-N-About’ experiences across Hull and the East Riding!
Co-Production
The brand-new NHS service prides itself on co-production meaning that all opportunities are designed by young people and delivered in collaboration with experienced youth workers, NHS professionals, educational providers and creative persons from the arts and other areas. Furthermore, we are new in the sense that the provision is informal, non-clinical, self-led and non-referral based.

Portage Workshop
This is a certificated training course delivered by National Portage Association Accredited Trainers.
The Portage Workshop is an introduction to the Portage Approach to working with children with additional needs and their families. The workshop is suitable for early years practitioners who work in an early year’s settings (PVI or maintained), Children’s Centres, Childminders and parents/carers of children who are receiving Portage support.
Central to the course are the ‘Portage Principles’ and the ‘Three Circle Model of Portage’. The NPA has set standards for minimum workshop content and length. The Workshop has a core curriculum consisting of seven modules and must last a minimum of 2 full days plus a Follow Up session.
The workshop is designed to support parents who have children that are being supported by Portage, and practitioners working with children, to help support their learning and development and to understand the strategies and principles used by Portage Workers.
