Funded Early Education - for childcare settings and childminders

2 Year Funding and 30 Hours Extended Entitlement

Any parent/carer wishing to apply for either the 2 year funding or the 30 hours Extended Entitlement, must do so before 31^st August in order to claim this from 4^th September 2023. Any codes applied for after 31^st August 2023 will not be eligible to start until the 2024 Spring term.

Please remember to obtain proof of 2 year funding or the 30 Hours Eligibility code before accepting a child onto one of these places.

New 2023 Provider Agreement

Please find attached the updated provider agreement for the 2023/24 academic year. There are a few minor changes highlighted in yellow that have been made to capture information to help with funding queries, should they arise and clarify information already contained within the agreement. 

Please note that due to the roll out of new funding entitlements over the coming years, changes to the agreement may be required and the local authority reserves the right to do this. Any updated versions issued, once reviewed must be signed by all providers offering funded early education.

Reporting Notifiable & Infectious Diseases

Although it is the summer holidays, a reminder that our reporting system for notifiable and infectious diseases through our Public Health Team is still accessible- they will report any cases to Public Health England negating the statutory requirement for you to do so.

As part of our ongoing support for our settings, Public Health working with the Families Information Service and the Early Years Team have developed such systems to aid our ability to understand the changing level of disease and respond quickly to protect the population- and so we are asking you to notify us of communicable diseases, such are coronavirus, influenza and others; full list here.

The below link is a simple form which enables us to capture information from you about the case, their contacts and risk assess the situation. Public Health colleagues and the Early Years Team, working together where needed, will then be able to offer the advice and support to you and the family.
