Funded Early Education - for childcare settings and childminders

New 2023 Provider Agreement

Please find attached the updated provider agreement for the 2023/24 academic year. There are a few minor changes highlighted in yellow that have been made to capture information to help with funding queries, should they arise and clarify information already contained within the agreement. 

Please note that due to the roll out of new funding entitlements over the coming years, changes to the agreement may be required and the local authority reserves the right to do this. Any updated versions issued, once reviewed must be signed by all providers offering funded early education.

2 Year Funding and 30 Hours Extended Entitlement

Any parent/carer wishing to apply for either the 2 year funding or the 30 hours Extended Entitlement, must do so before Thursday, 31 August in order to claim this from Monday, 4 September 2023. Any codes applied for after 31, August 2023 will not be eligible to start until the 2024 Spring term.

Please remember to obtain proof of 2 year funding or the 30 Hours Eligibility code before accepting a child onto one of these places.

Portage Workshop

This is a certificated training course delivered by National Portage Association Accredited Trainers.

The Portage Workshop is an introduction to the Portage Approach to working with children with additional needs and their families. The workshop is suitable for early years practitioners who work in an early year’s settings (PVI or maintained), Children’s Centres, Childminders and parents/carers of children who are receiving Portage support.

Central to the course are the ‘Portage Principles’ and the ‘Three Circle Model of Portage’. The NPA has set standards for minimum workshop content and length.  The Workshop has a core curriculum consisting of seven modules and must last a minimum of 2 full days plus a Follow Up session.

The workshop is designed to support parents who have children that are being supported by Portage, and practitioners working with children, to help support their learning and development and to understand the strategies and principles used by Portage Workers.   

The dates are 13.09.23, 24.10.23 and 21.11.23,

East Riding Oral Health  - Resource boxes

East Riding Oral Health Promotion team. are offering childcare providers the use of their free oral health resource boxes. They have two available for loan. One is an EYFS/KS1 box and the other is a KS2. The EYFS/KS1 and KS2 box both have an accompanying interactive video that can be downloaded off You Tube. 

The contents of each box compliment the new EY framework curriculum and they have many age-appropriate activities which can be used alongside the items in the suitcase. These boxes can be accessed at local CHCP dental Practices across the locality. They can be borrowed for up to 2 weeks and then need to be returned for a deep clean and restock before they can be used again. When borrowing this free resource, a collection date and return date will need to be confirmed and honoured to ensure the smooth running of this programme.
