East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) annual and Easter grant schemes are now launched supporting organisations to deliver fun activities for children and young people aged 5-16 years who receive benefits related free school meals in the school holidays.

Reporting Notifiable & Infectious Diseases
Details and a reminder below of our new reporting system for notifiable and infectious diseases through our Public Health Team- they will report any cases to Public Health England negating the requirement for you to do so.
As part of our ongoing support for settings who have cases of Covid-19 or other infectious diseases, Public Health working with Families Information Service is writing to ask for your continued support. Furthermore, to aid our ability to understand the changing level of disease and respond quickly to protect the population we are asking you to notify us of communicable diseases, such are coronavirus, influenza and others; full list here.
The below link is a simple form which will enable us to capture information from you about the case, their contacts and risk assess the situation. Public Health and FISH working together where needed, will then be able to offer the advice and support to you and the family.

The link is live, and we ask please that settings start to report cases via this.
If you require further general advice or a call-back, please contact our colleagues through the Education Public Health Officers via email cfsinfo@eastriding.gov.uk.

Department for Education Update
The National Professional Qualification in Early Years Leadership (NPQEYL) launched in October and is now available to current and aspiring nursery leaders, childminders, and leaders and head teachers of school-based nurseries. It has been developed to increase knowledge of leadership in early years settings, strengthen staff approaches to teaching and learning, and support children whose development has been impacted by the pandemic.
Participants will gain skills and confidence so they can deliver high-quality education and care to support children’s development, become a better organisational leader and develop staff so they can reach their full potential.
The course is free, flexible and designed by sector experts to help professionals across the sector to develop their career.
