Early Years & Inclusion Training
As a local authority East Riding is committed to supporting the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) of the early years workforce by offering a range of opportunities for you and your staff. The programme features training delivered in a blended approach via Microsoft Teams, Zoom and face to face by the Early Years and Inclusion Teams. You will continue to be able to book 2 places per course, unless otherwise stated.
To access this terms programme please visit the Families Service Directory (FSD).
From January evaluations of each course will be completed electronically, you will be sent the link to complete along with the link to join the course. Please take a few minutes to complete, this information will be anonymous but will support the development of courses and shape the way we deliver in the future.
We are also working on an electronic link to book onto training, which will be added into the training programme on the FSD, more information will follow shortly.
Due to the high number of non-attendees both in person and virtual, the Charging Policy has been updated for January 2023 and will be implemented for all courses where practitioners do not attend without previously notifying us, as detailed in the policy.
Qualifications – full and relevant
All early years providers working with children from birth to 5 years old must follow the regulations on early years foundation stage (EYFS) staff to child ratios. This is the number of qualified staff, at different qualification levels, an early years setting needs to have in order to meet the needs of all children and ensure their safety. These regulations are set out in the EYFS.
Please check that your staff are qualified to the right ratio for your setting, the EYDA’s have come across a number of staff who have not got a full and relevant qualification, many courses online offer a Level 3, but are actually only modules of a full course. For example, a Level 3 in Health and Social Care is not full and relevant to a role working in Early Years. Providers must make sure staff have the appropriate qualifications to count in the ratios.
If in doubt, check the details of staff qualifications through the link below.
