Earlier start to Recycling and Waste collections during the warm weather

While many of us enjoy will the higher temperatures, it makes the job even harder than normal for collections crews. Recycling, Waste, and Green Waste collections will start at 6am during the warmer weather period, so that crews are able to complete most of their rounds in the cooler part of the day. Please put your bins, boxes, and bags out the night before, or by 6am on the day of collection. Thanks for helping look after East Devon's crews.

The BBC Countryfile and East Devon Countryside Teams

BBC Countryfile presenters Sammi Kinghorn and Matt Baker recently visited Seaton Wetlands Nature Reserve to learn about its biodiversity and the important conservation work taking place.

This visit follows Countryfile’s previous coverage in 2013, which focused on the installation of the man-made sand martin nesting cliff. Since then, the sand martin cliff was first used in 2023 with 10 nests, increasing to 38 in 2024, and an impressive 148 pairs have been recorded this year – evidence of remarkable growth of the colony!

The episode, which also features footage from Seaton Tramway and Beer Beach, is scheduled to be broadcast on Sunday 22 June 2025 at 5pm on BBC One.
