Council phone lines expected to be busier than usual

Annual council tax bills will soon be coming through letterboxes across East Devon. A much higher number of phone calls than usual from residents to the District Council are expected because of this.

Did you know that you can receive your bills online, instead of by post? There are also different options for paying council tax, such as by direct debit, and online.

Alternative ways of contacting the council can be found on our website, and on the East Devon App. Thanks for your patience during this busy time.

Don't be a firestarter - recycle responsibly

Whilst we encourage the recycling of household aerosols, please ensure they are empty before putting them in your recycling sacks with your other household tins and cans. Please note that aerosols which are not empty present an explosion and fire risk in our vehicles and separation and baling plant.

Fuel cans need to be taken to a household recycling centre for safe handling and recycling/disposal. Please do not put fuel cans in your waste bin, as they present an explosion risk at the Energy from Waste plant and can lead to a plant shutdown. Thank you for helping to protect our team and our plant.

Visit the council's webpages to search through the A - Z of Recycling and Waste.
