 News and updates:
Matting Helps Improve Beer Beach Access
Track matting has now been put down on the beach in Beer, to help improve disabled access. The matting will be in place all year round and is replacing as much as the old quarry mats as possible.
The new matting has been possible thanks to contributions from EDDC, Beer Parish Council and concessions Kenno's and Chapples, along with support from Cllr John Heath.
Updates to the Shared Prosperity Fund
The UK Shared Prosperity Fund has allocated East Devon £1.7m over the three years to support local businesses and communities.
You can read about upcoming funding opportunities for businesses, through the fund, and check out what EDDC is delivering over the next three years too.
Horse Riding on Beaches
Horse and pony riders visiting East Devon’s beaches are being reminded of the rules, ahead of the busy summer season.
While horse riding is allowed on the district’s beaches, riders should remove any manure from the beach and nearby areas and leave the area clean and tidy for other beach users. We want to ensure everyone who wants to spend time at the seaside, from dog walkers, to kite surfers to children building sandcastles can enjoy their time there.
Commercial Opportunity
 The Moridunum, The Esplanade, Seaton
A unique opportunity to acquire the long leasehold of Seaton Moridunum. With impressive sea views, the property would suit a food and beverage operation development or refurbishment, subject to all the necessary consents being obtained.

Survey Launched by New Housing Commission
Experts, councillors and parliamentarians from across Devon have joined together to form a new Housing Commission. The Commission has been established by the Devon Housing Task Force which is a partnership between the eleven local authorities across Devon, Plymouth and Torbay – and supported by the University of Exeter.
The Commission will allow those affected to have their say and inform representations to Government. Individuals and organisations in the county can have their say on issues related to housing by responding to their newly launched survey.
Issues likely to be examined by the Commission include housing supply, homelessness, housing affordability, how to create attractive communities, integrating housing with health and care, the impact of short-term letting, holiday accommodation, student housing and second homes. The Commission will also be looking at how to deliver affordable housing in our rural communities while protecting the environment.
Tech South West Awards - Nominations Week
Entries to the Tech South West Awards officially close at midnight tonight but while normal entries are closed nominations are encouraged!
Tech South West is keen to shine a light on some of the great people or organisations who might be too modest to put an entry in themselves. From now until next Friday it's Nominations Week, meaning normal entries are closed but nominations are encouraged.
Who do you know who deserves a little recognition? Which organisation is quietly bossing it in their field? Get a nomination in via the button below and help us to celebrate the very best of the South West tech sector.
 Green Waste Subscriptions
Make your gardening easier! 19,000 households across East Devon already do, by subscribing to our popular fortnightly green waste kerb-side collections.
All of the green waste collected is composted in East Devon and used by local farms.
The service costs £50 a year and collections are made from the kerbside - easy, reliable, recycled.
Thank you, the Recycling Team
