Culture, Leisure and Tourism Fund (CLTF) Policy amendments
We have listened to feedback provided to the CLTF and have amended the Policy to include the following changes:
- Applicants can now submit any late quotes received by suppliers after the application deadline - up until 18 August 2023.
- The minimum number of years left remaining on a lease for community organisations has been lowered from 28 years to 10 years. The Panel will consider applications where there is less than 10 years remaining, but the building is owned by a public body.
We have also provided a helpful list of eligible accessibility equipment for those applying under the Sustainable Tourism pathway, thanks to Access & Inclusion UK.
The fund closes for applications at 23:59 on Friday, 21st July.
Free Digital Leadership training for small and medium businesses (SMEs) across Devon is now available. Business leaders who operate in the following sectors: Manufacturing, Clean Growth and Health and Adult Social Care, and who have 250 or fewer employees are eligible to apply for this free training opportunity.
Businesses can receive up to 32 hours of tutor led digital leadership training with the aim of embedding digital transformation within their business. Two training opportunities are available, these include driving digital transformation and driving digital business.
Over 50 individual Train4Tomorrow Skills Bootcamps courses are now enrolling learners with over 1000 places available. Courses are open to individuals aged over 19 looking to improve their skills and employability, and are delivered by a range of training providers, with face-to-face learning, as well as online courses on offer.
Employers who wish to use the Train4Tomorrow Skills Bootcamps for staff development are required to contribute to the costs of the course, either 10% for SMEs or 30% for large businesses.
For employers looking to recruit staff, Skills Bootcamps offer a pipeline of highly skilled and motivated individuals who are looking for roles where they can utilise the skills learnt.
Help to Grow is a practical management training course for SME leaders and senior managers, accredited by the Small Business Charter. The course is 90% funded by the UK Government and has been developed by entrepreneurs and business leaders. It’s designed to fit around work commitments, and is delivered by a blend of webinars, peer-networking call and face-to-face workshops.
University of Exeter Business School is one of the delivery partners and its next course is due to start in September. The course covers modules like strategy, innovation, finance, marketing, employee engagement and digital adoption, aimed to equip managers with the knowledge and confidence to build a more resilient business.
Thrive Business Resilience and networking event
Free event, with workshops and networking is taking place at Exeter Science Park on 20th July.
Find out how your business can not just weather the current economic storm but come out stronger. This event will feature workshops from Business Information Point (BIP) with practical advice and information on business resilience, a Business Health Check, and successful grant funding application tips.
The Heart of the South West Growth Hub will talk about the many funded services currently on offer, and there will be opportunity to network with other businesses.
