As of Tuesday 1 April 2025, additional items can be placed in your blue bin. From this date you can recycle plastic pots, tubs, trays and liquid cartons, if they are empty, clean and dry.
This is in addition to paper, card, plastic bottles, food and drink tins/cans, aluminium foil and aerosols.

Doncaster Post Office Branch Closure
We have been informed by the Post Office that regrettably, following the resignation of the postmaster and the withdrawal of the premises for Post Office use, the branch at 14-16 West Mall, Frenchgate Centre will be closing on Friday 30 May at 12pm.
The Post Office are currently investigating options available to reinstate a Post Office service to the local community. For further information please visit our Consultation Hub via the link below:
Supporting people with a SMILE
SMILE (Supportive Multi-Ability Inter-Generational Life Experiences) provides day activities and projects for older people, adults with learning disabilities, autism and individuals who require specialist support.
There are 13 SMILE locations placed all over Doncaster which help people to build confidence, make new friends, feel part of a community and achieve personal outcomes.
‘Oliver’ has been coming to SMILE for 18 months, 3 days a week, after he and his family reached out for support to build a social circle. Oliver says SMILE has ‘changed my life’ and his confidence and mental wellbeing has improved greatly, along with forming many valuable friendships.
You can find out more about SMILE and how to get in touch at our website. Lots of updates from friends and supporters of SMILE is also posted on their Facebook page or follow Day Doncaster on X.
