Guidance from the UKHSA for those travelling abroad visiting family and friends
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has published a series of resources for people travelling overseas. When a contractor works for any of our service areas or schools, we are legally obligated by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) to assess the work to determine the worker’s tax status and when the appropriate Income Tax and National Insurance Contributions (NIC) are paid. These regulations are known as employment status and the Off-Payroll Working (IR35) Rules.
Employment Status and Off-Payroll Working Regulations can be confusing, plus the process can be complex and time-consuming. Colleagues now have a chance to raise these issues at regular employment status surgeries hosted on Microsoft Teams.
