The DSLS Board of Trustees alongside the Schools Executive Committee wish to undertake a review of the services to schools to include the core work with the LA as well as its other business activities both now and in the future. Some of you may not currently engage with all aspects of our work, others will be very familiar with what is available and regularly look to DSLS to support them in their leadership role.

Your feedback is important to us. Please take a few minutes of your time to complete the short questionnaire and help us to consider how DSLS can continue to provide a valuable service to school leaders going forward - READ MORE

Devon Education Forum (DEF) Nominations close on 31 July 2022

Devon Education Forum (DEF) provides an important contact point between the local authority and education providers. Drawing on a wide spectrum of stakeholders’ knowledge, views and experience ensures that funding decisions are shaped by open dialogue, informed debate and challenge.

Membership of DEF will require attendance at quarterly meetings and your school or trust will be remunerated for time out of school plus preparation and follow up.

This year, the current terms of office for all Schools (LA Maintained) and Academy members will come to an end on 31 August 2022 triggering a nominations process to appoint members for a new four year term running from 1 September 2018 – 31 August 2022.

DSLS is inviting nominations from school leaders across both phases to represent schools and contribute to the process of ensuring an equitable distribution of finance is achieved for all pupils within the local authority. READ MORE

Babcock LDP staff and services transferring to DCC

On Monday 1 August 2022, all staff and services from Babcock LDP will transfer to Devon County Council.

Over the past year, DCC have been working hard to ensure the transition will be as smooth as possible, and services provided to schools and settings will not be affected.  After the transition, existing Babcock LDP telephone numbers will remain the same. However, email addresses will change to a DCC email address.

Further information will be sent in late August, so you have all the information you need ready for the new school year.
