Institute of Physics Teacher Training Scholarships
Might your school have a physics NQT starting in September? If so, you could be eligible to be part of a major national trial being run by the Institute of Physics and receive £250 for your science department.
With only 547 physics teachers in ITT this year, we need to understand how to encourage as many as possible to enter and stay in the profession.
The KEEP Teaching trial is part of the IOP’s work in this area. We’re looking for 120 schools with physics teachers starting their NQT year in September 2020 to participate.
Schools and trainees can register interest on the website iop.org/keeptrial plus there are more on the Institute of Physics website at iop.org

Headteachers Survey on Staggered Entry to Reception Classes 2020
(Note: this survey was advertised in the Autumn Term / Issue 6 but due to link settings it was not accessible to all).
Please complete this B R I E F S U R V E Y which is aimed at Headteachers of infant and primary schools.
Devon County Council wants to know more about schools’ understanding and practice around options for children starting in the Reception intake: full-time, part-time and deferred admission.
Last year the Early Years and Admissions teams took several calls from parents who had not been given an option of starting full time on the first day of term. A similar survey to this one will be sent to parents in June to gauge their understanding of what they can request and asking them about the options they were given by schools. Thank you for your input, it is very much appreciated. Survey closes noon on Friday 14 February 2020.

Please can childminders complete all questions that are relevant to them, ignoring any that are not. Please return the survey by 23 February 2020.
