Autumn Learning Community
Thank you to everyone who attend the first learning community of the year yesterday.
The commitment to share practice is fantastic. The EBE team were thoroughly impressed with every school's use of the toolkit and thanked the attendees for their feedback and commitment to improving teaching. It is a reflection of the work of Western schools that Professor Rob Coe himself is part of our community.
The energising session was recorded, please contact the WELL@cumberland.gov.uk inbox if you would like this to be shared you with you.
See you all at the Spring Term learning community for more sharing of Great Teaching!

Image Description: Text Reading 'Action Research'
Action Research 23-24
Action Research is one of WELL’s key mechanisms to formatively evaluate our work and an extremely powerful way for schools to implement evidence-informed approaches, helping you to identify a baseline picture and to draw out and reflect on emerging implications for your practice and whole school leadership.
If the effective use of evidence in your school is a priority, we strongly recommend you sign up to the 'Launch and Learning' session to find our more.
Please see all session details below and how to book:
1: Launch & Learning Session – Attend either 8th PM or 9th AM Nov 2023
Dates for diaries participating schools:
2: Planning for evidence collection – Attend either 27th PM or 28th AM Feb 2024
3: Re-energiser and stock take session – Attend 1st May 2024 PM (Online)
4: Write-up session – Attend either 3rd July AM or PM
You can book onto these 4 sessions with the School Development Team or we have created an online form to sign up to all 4 sessions at once:

If you choose this option the WELL team will forward your chosen sessions to the SDT who will book places for you.
Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA)
Youth Mental Health First Aid will teach you the skills and confidence to spot the signs of mental health issues in a child or young person, offer first aid and guide them towards the support they need. In doing so, you can speed up a young person’s recovery and stop a mental health issue from getting worse.
