DfE Peer-to-Peer SEN unit and Resourced Provision Networks
New networks for SEN units & resourced provisions with an autism specialism
DfE is pleased to be launching national peer-to-peer SEN unit & resourced provision networks, starting with a primary school network and a secondary school network for SEN units & resourced provisions with an autism specialism.
These networks will be coordinated by DfE and form part of the department’s RISE universal service offer on inclusive mainstream, along with the recently-published signposting webpage on inclusive mainstream.
These networks will be led by sector experts. The aim of the networks is to provide a forum for peer learning and support through half-termly meetings in which schools share challenges and best practice in order to drive high-quality provision across the country.
The networks are open to all schools with a SEN unit/resourced provision or with their own provision (i.e. not LA commissioned) with an autism specialism. They are also open to schools interested in setting one up, or in the process of setting one up, so that they can learn from the experience of others.
The networks are specifically aimed at provision leads who are responsible for the day-to-day running of the provision.
Benefits of signing up include:
- collaborative problem-solving and action learning with experienced peers
- access to high-quality resources and sessions led by sector experts
- focused discussions on a range of relevant topics, shaped by your priorities and key areas of interest
- opportunity to connect with peers and build lasting professional relationships
Sign up via the SEN unit/resourced provision for autism network - signup form.
National Professional Qualifications – Laurence Sheriff Teaching School Hub
National Professional Qualifications with UCL and your Teaching School Hub
Do you have any members of staff who would benefit from undertaking an NPQ? The Autumn 2025 cohort will be their only opportunity this academic year.
NPQs are a great way to develop and retain your staff
We are delighted to be working with UCL – the only university-led NPQ Ofsted Outstanding NPQ provider. NPQ face-to-face sessions are delivered locally by our expert facilitators who are all teachers who are currently serving or have recently served in the Coventry and Central Warwickshire area.
Is there funding available?
For some schools with high levels of disadvantage, there are funded scholarships available. Check on the DfE website to see if your school is eligible. There are also funded scholarship places for all participants regardless of school on NPQH and NPQSENCO.
We are expecting to run the full suite of NPQs locally starting from November 2025.
How to apply
Register for an NPQ on the DfE website. Select UCL and your lead provider, and Coventry and Central Warwickshire Teaching School Hub as your local delivery partner.
