Marketing
There are lots of reasons to always be marketing your business and lots of ways to market your business. One of the most important reasons to market your business and one of the best ways to market your business is in developing relationships with others in your community. If you have relationships with others, then you’re more likely to know the needs of the community and the value your business brings to them. To be able to target your clients with information about your program you must know who your client is.
“Everyone involved in the recruitment, enrollment, and admissions process must be able to describe and discuss the unique aspects of your program in an informed way.” (From Survive to Thrive by Debbie LeeKeenan and Iris Chin Ponte)
Tips for Marketing your Business:
-
Physical Visibility is your program in a visible area, what is the first impression your program gives when people drive by or come to your program? Does your program have visible signage? Is signage in a good location? How are the physical surroundings, are they nice and neat, and inviting?
-
Open Houses and School Tours one of the best ways to advertise to the community what your program provides and what the families can expect from your program is to give tours and host Open Houses.
-
Print Collateral eye catching, clean, to the point, call to action, and contact information. Distribute where your customer is, is your customer the employees of a business or in a certain career field, does your client live in an area of town, is your client at a local event?
-
Website all businesses should have an online presence for visibility, it also shows the professionalism of your program. If your program does not have a budget for this, you may ask for a volunteer from your program or your community or make that partnership with a local business. There are many sites that you can create or have your website hosted on.
Child Care Website Ideas
-
Social media there are lots of public platforms like Facebook and Instagram, this is another way to share information about your program. These platforms can be used to give information about an open house, school tours, fundraising events, hiring opportunities, program activities, field trips, new initiatives, and a lot more. If your budget allows you can pay to promote your program on social media.
-
Word of Mouth the current staff and families enrolled in your program can provide testimonials that you can use in your marketing in order to attract future employees and families.
-
Local Networking find your local Chamber of Commerce or other local networking organizations, like Amarillo Women’s Network, Panhandle Human Resources Association, or other networking groups and become a member. Work out partnerships with local businesses that are mutually beneficial. Join in community fairs and events with a booth or table placement, or signage.
-
Workshops organize workshops for prospective families over topics such as dealing with challenging behavior or tips for age-appropriate learning activities, whatever topic reflects the knowledge you and your staff have along with the interest of families. Partnerships with community organizations that work with families and may accept people to speak on a topic. Have marketing materials available for attendees to take with them.
-
Edu marketing should be 80% Education and 20% Selling. Curate information, you can even use AI programs like Chat GPT to help with creating educational content to use in your marketing strategy. The educational information could be delivered in a number of ways such as social media, website, print, newsletters and email.
