ARP Homeless II Federal Grant

Texas school districts, open enrollment charter schools, and education service centers are eligible to apply and receive funds from the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Homeless II Federal Grant. The purpose of the ARP Homeless II funding is to increase local education agencies' (LEAs) and education service centers' (ESCs) capacity to identify, enroll, and provide wraparound services to address the unique needs of homeless children and youth due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Funding

The allocation amounts for each LEA have been posted: 2021-2024 ARP Homeless II Allocation Amounts by LEANote: LEAs with an allocation below $5,000 must join a Shared Service Arrangement.

To access eGrants and apply for this grant, you must have access to the TEA Login (TEAL). 

  1. Visit the TEAL page of the TEA website. Select Request New User Account to begin the process of applying for a TEAL account online.
  2. Once you have been assigned a TEAL account, log into TEAL and under Self-Service select My Application Accounts.
  3. The My Accounts tab will open. Select Request New Account and find eGrants in the list and follow the instructions to submit your request.

ARP Homeless II eGrant Training

On March 4th, 2022, TEA held a webinar to provide information on ARP Homeless II for prospective grantees. 

During this webinar, the TEA Grants Department provided an overview of the eGrant application and how to apply. TEHCY Program staff reviewed the requirements for receiving funds, the timeline for submitting an application, and the allowable expenditures for grantees.

McKinney-Vento 101 Training Materials

Did you know you can view the McKinney-Vento 101 Training on the TEA webpage? This training provides an overview of the key requirements of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. Viewers can learn more about identification, enrollment, dispute resolution, and the roles and responsibilities of local education agencies (LEAs) and McKinney-Vento Liaisons to support students experiencing homelessness.

Regional ESC McKinney-Vento Liaisons

Every education service center (ESC) has a designated regional McKinney-Vento Liaison. Regional McKinney-Vento Liaisons assist TEA with technical assistance, professional development, and dissemination of resource materials within their regions. Visit theTEHCY webpage to find the contact information for the ESC McKinney-Vento Liaison in your area.

ACET 2022 Presentations

TEHCY Program staff will be presenting at the Association for Compensatory Educators of Texas (ACET) Spring Conference. The conference will be held at the Embassy Suites in San Marcos, Texas from April 27-29, 2022. There will be two TEHCY sessions:
