As part of METRO's ongoing commitment to enhancing the customer experience, the Authority will offer temporary service adjustments on the METRORail Red, Green and Purple lines to allow for critical system upgrades.
The adjustments will begin at the start of service on Thursday, Dec. 5 and continue until the end of service on Sunday, Dec. 8.
The planned work prioritizes safety, cleanliness, and long-term reliability, with upgrades including:
- Rail replacement and welding work on a section of track for a safer, smoother ride.
- Expansion joint and concrete repairs on two bridges.
- Deep cleaning of rail stations, including power washing canopies and platforms, removing graffiti, and clearing unwanted posters.
- Routine maintenance to ensure system reliability.
Red Line Two-way bus shuttle service will run every 10 minutes from Northline Transit Center / HCC station to Downtown Transit Center station. View shuttle map.
Green / Purple lines Two-way bus shuttle service will run every 10 minutes from Theater District station to Eado / Stadium station. View shuttle map.
The bus shuttle service is free. Please allow extra travel time for your trip.
METRO personnel will be available to provide assistance. Customers can also text or call METRO Customer Service at 713-635-4000 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends.
