Today, robotic arms stack boxes on pallets, retrieve inventory, spot-weld at heights with precision, and even help farmers weed their fields. Robots have helped free workers from dull, dirty, and dangerous jobs. Yet, as more employees begin working with robots, new hazards arise. These tips can help you protect your workers.

Stand Up for Grain Safety, March 27-31, 2023

OSHA, along with groups like the National Grain and Feed Association, is hosting the Stand Up for Grain Safety Week to raise awareness of grain handling dangers.

They offer a variety of resources, including printable safety posters in English and Spanish.

The following safety tips can help prevent granary injuries and deaths. DWC Workplace Safety also offers links to free online safety videos for grain handling safety, as well as the following free downloadable safety publications:


Free OSHA 10-Hour Construction Classes

Free OSHA 10-Hour Construction Classes

DWC offers in-person training in both English and Spanish. Those who complete the course receive an OSHA 10-Hour Construction course completion card within eight weeks. 

  • You must be a Texas resident or an employee currently working in Texas to register.
  • The student must understand and communicate in the language of the course.
  • All classes start at 8 a.m.

Online | March 28-30 | English class | Three-day

Low-Cost OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Class

This class covers OSHA general industry standards and requirements and safety awareness to help employees find and reduce job site hazards.

  • In-person training and online video training.
  • You must be a Texas resident or an employee currently working in Texas to register.
  • The student must understand and communicate in the language of the course.
  • Participants receive an OSHA 10-Hour General Industry card within eight weeks after course completion.

April 2023

Austin (Barbara Jordan Building-BJB) | April 13-14 | Spanish class | Two-day

Registration costs $30 and is required due to limited space.

Free On-Site or Online Safety Consultations

No matter your needs or challenges, the Texas OSHA Consultation Program (OSHCON) has safety and health resources to help your business.

OSHCON consultations are both free and confidential. They are offered in person at your jobsite or virtually.

We can help you find, reduce, and remove safety and health hazards, and understand OSHA standards.

OSHCON also provides:

  • training;
  • help with safety and health programs; and
  • free safety training materials and publications.
