You may have noticed that our newsletter has a new banner this month. This update is intended to reflect increased coordination between the Center for Coordaining Oregon Home Visiting Systems (CCOHVS), Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and the Oregon Department of Early Learning and Care (DELC). The format and cadence of this newsletter will remain the same, but the creation and distribution efforts will be more collaborative.
As always, we also want to continue to collaborate with you and would love to amplify your work! Do you have resources or opportunities you would like to share with the state-wide home visiting workforce? Please reach out to Alyssa McClean to submit content for next month's newsletter.

- On November 3, 2026, CCOHVS will host the first in-person Home Visiting Action Network meeting in Salem at Chemeketa Eola.
- We look forward to celebrating a year of the HVAN and spending some time thinking about the home visiting system coordination ahead of us.
- The first wave of registration invites went out to current home visiting system work group and governance members. We’ll open it to all in early September.
- Keep your eye out for the registration information!

The National Maternal Mental Health Hotline Is Here for Families
We want to remind you that the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline provides free, confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Individuals can call or text 1-833-TLC-MAMA (1-833-852-6262) or webchat to connect with a trained counselor who will listen, provide support, and connect them with resources.
You can order or download free Hotline promotional materials. We encourage you to make these resources visible and readily available in all settings where pregnant women, mothers, and families receive services.
Free Webinar: Getting Kids the Care They Need: How EPSDT Expands OHP Coverage for Children and Youth
Did you know that children and youth under age 21 enrolled in the Oregon Health Plan may be entitled to services that go beyond what many people assume OHP covers? Thanks to the return of full EPSDT (Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment), children are eligible for individualized coverage determinations based on their specific needs—not just the Prioritized List. In this practical session, facilitated by the Oregon Law Center, attendees will learn how EPSDT can open doors to needed therapies, equipment, behavioral health services, and other supports; how to identify when a denial may be improper; and what advocacy tools are available when a child is not getting the care they need. Whether you're new to this topic or looking to strengthen your advocacy skills, leave with actionable strategies to help families navigate OHP and secure medically necessary services for the children you serve.
This discussion is primarily geared towards care coordinators, home visitors and Developmental Disabilities Services Coordinators working with children and youth, but other individuals working with pediatric clients are welcome to attend. Join a webinar to learn about ACF’s Family Engagement Toolkit for Early Childhood Home Visiting Programs. Developed as part of the Understanding and Expanding the Reach of Home Visiting (HV-REACH) project, the toolkit provides evidence-based resources and practical strategies to support home visiting programs’ outreach, recruitment, and retention efforts.
The webinar will provide an overview of the toolkit and how programs can use its self-assessments to identify strengths, challenges, and opportunities related to family engagement and develop action plans to address their goals. Participants will also have opportunities to complete a self-assessment, participate in small-group discussions, and ask questions. The webinar is designed for home visiting practitioners, including program managers, supervisors, and home visitors, as well as program administrators, leaders, and trainers.
Learning to Listen: Conversations for Change returns for a conversation with Monica Torres, PhD, a clinical psychologist, behavioral scientist, communications system architect, and founder of SocialQuest, Inc.
In a moment when immigrant families are navigating extraordinary uncertainty, children are carrying weight that often goes unseen and unspoken. This conversation explores the psychological and developmental experience of children in families who have immigrated, the specific traumas and challenges they are facing today, and the communication and relational practices that help families strengthen resilience, protect identity, and find community in the midst of upheaval. Drawing on behavioral science, cultural intelligence, and 30 years of applied fieldwork, Dr. Torres will offer both a diagnostic lens and a path forward for families, practitioners, and anyone who loves a child navigating two worlds at once.

Free Webinar: Workload and Wellbeing - Managing Tasks, Establishing Workflows and Decreasing Overwhelm
In a recent workforce development survey, we received a request to provide training that would support teams in managing competing priorities and feelings of overwhelm. This webinar will introduce practical tools for managing individual workload, prioritizing tasks, and identifying workflow challenges that may be better addressed at the team or system level.
Participants will explore strategies for organizing work, managing documentation and data entry demands, navigating competing priorities, and thinking through common home visiting workload scenarios. The session will also include discussion of how teams can look at workflows, roles, and processes to reduce bottlenecks where possible.

This is the second webinar in a two-part series on home accessibility for children with disabilities and complex health needs. This series shares findings from a Foundation-funded landscape analysis that included over 60 key informant interviews across 10 states to elucidate programs and policies that support accessible housing for children and their families.
The first webinar focused on why home modifications matter and the barriers families face in accessing them. This second webinar will highlight programs, policies, and resources that exist to help families make their homes more accessible and explore why home modification supports are often difficult to find and use.

Equity Resource Exploration Circles
The Family and Child Health Section invites you to join our upcoming Equity Resource Exploration Circle series. This series will explore the resources found in the Promising Practices Equity Resource Library developed by the Family Connects Oregon Team.
This six-month series will begin with an introduction and establishing group norms followed by 5-months to dig into each focus area together. Participants are invited to review the tools in each focus area prior to joining the exploration circle. Our hope is that, like in a book club, you would arrive ready to share ideas, ask questions, respond to scenarios or consider ways in which the tools or resources can be applied to advance equity.
Perinatal Anxiety and Depression – Recording and Office Hour Inviation
Recording: Thank you to those who were able to join the Exploring Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Webinar last month. In case you missed it, you can find the recording, slides, and responses to the survey questions in the Home Visitor Resource Library.
Office Hour: We received interest in more in-depth support to develop site-specific guidance for staff. In response, we are hosting a follow-up “Office Hour” discussion time with our trainer, Alison Hinson. This session is intended to support Home Visiting Supervisors to support their teams.
