No-cost blueprint reading and sketching class | Salem
Strengthen your trade skills by participating in a Blueprint Reading and Sketching Class offered at Chemeketa Community College and hosted by Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Reentry Services. Job seekers from priority populations are invited to participate to upskill and improve employability. While the flyer mentions this as a reentry service, other populations are welcome, including individuals with disabilities.

Info session on weatherization training program | Salem
Oregon Training Institute and WorkSource Oregon are hosting a paid training program to prepare participants for careers in the weatherization field. During the 11-week program, participants build skills, gain valuable field experience and secure certificates.
- Two info sessions are scheduled at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on April 6

Oregon Tradeswomen Career Fair | Portland
Oregon Tradeswomen’s Career Fair is a no-cost, interactive, trades-related career event highlighting apprenticeship and debt-free training options for lucrative careers in the construction, manufacturing, mechanical, energy, and utility industries.
The event also offers a unique, hands-on opportunity for students to learn about apprenticeship and career opportunities in the skilled trades.

Reminder: Oregon's Employment First Advisory Group is requesting feedback
The Employment First Strategic Plan guides Oregon's work to help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) get and maintain jobs and advance in their careers. Comments for the draft of the plan are due April 10. Read the March 3 Employment First message for details.
Reminder: Lunch & Learn for Business to focus on digital accessibility
VR and OCB will kick off the 2026 Lunch & Learn for Business series on April 21, and employees from any business in Oregon are welcome! Oregon Commission for the Blind’s Assistive Technology Specialists will review digital accessibility designed for individuals with low vision and blindness. Come curious and plan to leave with bite-sized tips to increase your knowledge and your business’s digital accessibility. Please share with colleagues and business partners.
