OSDE-SES is partnering with LRP Publications to bring tailored professional development to all support personnel who serve students with disabilities and assist with improving student outcomes. This is a 6-hour workshop that will be split into 3, 2-hour virtual (zoom) meetings. We will review the Communication Matrix Profile, framework administration and implications for intervention based on results.
Additional topics will include: data collection, preference survey, sample report, yes/no hierarchy breakdown, considerations when determining symbol sets, implementation guide, alternative color coding of results, overview of website.

This workshop is designed for general and special educators serving students with autism who demonstrate challenging behavior in the school setting.
Upon completion, participants will be able to identify the functions of behavior, implement preventative strategies and supports, and teach replacement skills to decrease challenging behavior.
This is the prerequisite for Conducting FBAs and Writing BIPs.

Upon completion, participants will be able to conduct a functional behavior assessment (FBA) and write a behavior intervention plan (BIP).
