National Child Abuse Prevention Month recognizes the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect. Prevention services and supports developed by this collaboration can help to protect children and strengthen families. This year's theme is "Everyday Actions".
The State Vision Screening Report is due annually by June 1 and is to be submitted on Single Sign On.Results cannot be entered after July 1.
All public school districts will report to the State Department of Education the number of kindergarten, first and third-grade students who submitted certification of a completed vision screening and the number of students who received a comprehensive eye examination from an optometrist or ophthalmologist. Reporting page will be opened March 24, 2023.
The Oklahoma State Department of Education and Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education have been collaborating on a course equivalencies document for students participating in concurrent enrollment. We are in our final stages of edits and wanted to share the document with this group for feedback.

In 2020, we collected survey information from nearly 600 Oklahoma School Counselors about their implementation of comprehensive school counseling. We are now conducting the same survey in order to assess our progress. We are hoping to get responses from as many Oklahoma School Counselors as possible. This will help guide us as we continue to seek innovative ways to support you. Please take a moment to complete this short survey.
The Oklahoma State Department of Education is offering a one-time materials grant for all AP educators. This grant is available to any teacher who teachers an existing AP course or who will begin a new AP course in the 2023-2024 school year. The maximum award for this grant is $25,000. Children's Behavioral Health Conference Youth and Young Adult Track
The Youth and Young Adult Track will provide an opportunity for youth and young adults to hear from other youth/youth adults and special presenters. Throughout the day there will be different options for youth and young adults to attend. The topics may be focused on leadership skills, consent, mental health career options, suicide awareness, mental health awareness and self-care.

Please Note: Youth, ages 13-17, attending the track with a provider/ organization (such as an agency or school) are asked to have a chaperone with them at all times. Chaperones are required to register and are also responsible for checking the youth(s) in/out and staying with them throughout day.
