The Oklahoma State Department of Education and Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education have been collaborating on a course equivalencies document for students participating in concurrent enrollment. We are in our final stages of edits and wanted to share the document with this group for feedback.
Please review the document and provide feedback to help us improve the document before it is published.
In 2020, we collected survey information from nearly 600 Oklahoma School Counselors about their implementation of comprehensive school counseling. We are now conducting the same survey in order to assess our progress. We are hoping to get responses from as many Oklahoma School Counselors as possible. This will help guide us as we continue to seek innovative ways to support you. Please take a moment to complete this short survey.
Please join us for "Coffee with Counselors!" This is an informal time for school counselors from across our great state to come together for celebration, collaboration, and continued growth. We look forward to you joining us!

Crisis Toolkit Available
It is always a great reminder to make a plan of action before a crisis occurs. Having a plan in place before a crisis will lessen the traumatic impact of the crisis on everyone involved.
With that in mind, remember that we have several "best practice" documents available in our Crisis Toolkit on our Crisis Preparedness and Response website.
Here are the links to those best practice documents.
Anytime you have a question about a specific issue or are setting up best practices for your school or district, please reach out. If you are in a crisis, call the crisis line at 405-397-7108. You can also call Michelle Strain at 405-522-0031 for consultation in non-crisis times.
The TSET Healthy Youth Initiative recently released a new round of posters to school administrators promoting the My Life, My Quit youth tobacco and vape cessation helpline. This promotion is being handled by Refuel Agency, which is running a separate photo contest to capture pictures of the posters being used in select schools across the state. This contest offers a cash prize. As a result, we've received some questions asking about the legitimacy of the poster campaign.
The attached letter provides more context about the posters and TSET's goal for the in-school promotion. Participation in Refuel's contest is not a condition of accepting and posting our materials - they are provided at no cost, no strings attached. As a supporter of My Life, My Quit, I hope that you will share this information with your network to encourage their confidence in using these resources to help Oklahoma students.
