EDPlan Update – New Contact Wizard

When Schools closed in the spring, many users requested an easier way to document Parent Contacts.  Based on your input, EDPlan will be releasing a new Contact Wizard soon.  The Contact Wizard will allow the user to log contacts for students in succession, rather than accessing each student’s Contact Log individually. The new Contact Wizard will be released in early October. See attached guidance for details.

Child Count Notices

The special education child count was conducted on October 1. Students cleanly enrolled in your district on October 1 with active IDEA eligibility and an IEP have been counted. If you have students who are not showing on your “Child List” in the Single Sign-on SPED Child Count application (the official list), you may submit an appeal to have the students added to the report once all errors are corrected. Click here to read the procedures for submitting an appeal. We want every student counted who should be. Superintendents must certify by October 16 to be timely, if an appeal is not needed.

District Data Profiles

Special Education Directors: a first draft of your district data profile will be issued later this week. If you do not receive it by Monday, please contact ginger.elliott-teague@sde.ok.gov. It is likely we do not have the correct email contact for you. A webinar about the data profile—how we use it, background on the calculations, data sources, etc.—is scheduled for October 13, from 1:00 to 4:00pm. Come with questions! Click here to register for the October 13 meeting.
