To ensure the safety of potential visitors and our employees, Oklahoma Health Care Authority's offices are open by appointment only. But we are still here to provide the help our members and providers need.
Members may call the SoonerCare helpline Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 800-987-7767 (they will need their member ID number available to enter when they call).
The website and SoonerCare helpline should be able to take care of all needs, but if a member needs to set up an appointment to visit in person, they can call 405-522-7300. They will first press option 9, then choose option 4. Appointments can be made for Thursdays and Fridays.

OHCA has started accepting diagnosis information on prescription claims. The diagnosis can be used in federal reporting requirements or to automatically approve a drug with a prior authorization requirement.
In the near future, OHCA will require a diagnosis on prescription birth control. At a later time, the diagnosis may be required on all pharmacy prescriptions paid for by SoonerCare. Notification will be sent out prior to denying any prescription claims with no diagnosis. In the meantime, OHCA asks all prescribers to begin writing the appropriate diagnosis on all prescriptions.
The 2020 Surgeon General’s Report Is Out.
In 1964, the Surgeon General’s report exposed the serious dangers of tobacco use. In 2020, a new report is out with powerful insights backed by innovative research. Read it, and advise your patients to quit. A recent study found four out of nine patients never receive advice to quit tobacco from their health care providers. You can make the difference.
The Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline
The helpline is available to Oklahomans ages 13 and older. It is a free, non-judgmental resource available 24/7. Services include quit coaching, email and text support, plus a free, two-week supply of nicotine replacement therapy. Encourage your patients to call 1-800-QUIT NOW or visit OKhelpline.com.
FREE Materials for Your Office
Visit OKhelpline.com to order free promotional materials for your office. Materials include brochures, posters, pens and cards with quitting tips. These free tools and resources encourage patients to quit and keep the helpline top-of-mind.
