Around Amity Schools
Mrs. Hermanson's first grade class published their own class book. They held a "Publishing Party" this week to celebrate with their classmates, families, and friends. Great work by all students!
   
PTO Father/Daughter Dance
 The PTO Father/Daughter Dance will be held on Friday, February 8 from 7:00-9:00 at Amity Elementary. Girls in Kindergarten through 6th Grade are welcome to be escorted by their father, grandfather, uncle, or other adult male. The cost is $10 per couple and $5 for each additional daughter. We look forward to seeing you there.
Celebrate Excellence Award: Nominate an Outstanding Educator
It's that time of year again where we get to celebrate our wonderful staff. Each year we participate in the Celebrate Excellence event where we ask for nominations for our outstanding teachers.

Champions Program
Champions will be running their full day program during Spring Break! The hours will be 6:30 am - 6:00 pm.
Champions will be running a Summer camp here at Amity! June 10 - August 2 from 6:30 am - 6:00 pm
Field trips, swimming, special guests, extended learning activities and friends! **Cost: $50 enrollment fee (due now) $90 activity fee (due when camp starts) -covers all field trips and most activities $35 per day - only pay for the days you schedule your student

Deer Park Youth Soccer Sign Ups
 DPSL offers a fun, safe and healthy opportunity for all kids. The goal is for all players to learn the game, increase skill level and, most importantly, to have fun. All skill levels welcome!
Registration runs through February 10. Leagues are available for ages 5-18.

Polar Cats Running Club
Calling all 6th grade students who are interested in joining a running club. During the months of December, January, and February the Polar Cats Running Club will be meeting after school on Mondays and Wednesdays to run around the Deer Park community. Interested students should meet in Mr. Ihlendorf's room (219) after school. Runners will be ready for pickup by 4:15. Fitness Center Open to the Public
 The school district would like to remind Deer Park residents that the fitness center at Deer Park Jr./Sr. High School is open to all residents.
The fitness center is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8 a.m.-noon.

Preschool Information
Deer Park residence with students who turn 4 before August 1, 2019 are eligible to attend Deer Park preschool in the 2019-2020 school year.
New next year, classes will run four days per week (Monday through Thursday) with a morning and afternoon session. Each session will include up to 14 students.
Kindergarten Cut-off Date Moved to August 1st
Last week, the Deer Park Board of Education approved a change to the cut-off date for kindergarten beginning with the 2019-2020 school year. The cut-off date for kindergarten will now be August 1. Students must turn 5 years of age before August 1, 2019 to be eligible to start kindergarten in the 2019-2020 school year.
Lost and Found
Our Amity "Lost and Found" is quickly growing! Please ask your child to check the lost and found for any missing items! Once we reach Winter Break, all remaining items will be donated!
Lunch Charge Balances
We are reaching high numbers of students with lunch charge balances. We are mailing letters to families of Amity students where the situation needs to be addressed. Please be aware of the status of your student's lunch account, as everyone wants lunch to be an enjoyable and relaxing experience.
Deer Park Schools Looking for Substitutes
Deer Park Schools is looking for substitute teachers at both Deer Park Jr./Sr. High School and Amity Elementary.
If you are interested in becoming a Substitute Teacher for us please apply here. We are partnered with Hamilton County Educational Service Center for this service. They are located at 11083 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45231.
