From the Office of Town Supervisor Joseph D. Cavaccini
Dear neighbors,
As we embrace the warmth and vibrancy of June, I am delighted to welcome you to the latest edition of our "Around Town" newsletter. There's so much happening in our community as we dive into summer!
Firstly, let's celebrate the conclusion of another school year! Congratulations to all the graduating seniors from Roy C. Ketcham and John Jay High Schools. Your hard work and achievements have been truly remarkable, and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
Our parks are buzzing with excitement as Summer Camp and various recreation activities kick off. Whether you're exploring nature trails, enjoying sports leagues, or joining in community events, there's something for everyone to enjoy outdoors. To celebrate the end of the school year, we are invited all families to our first ever Summer Kick Off Party at Martz Field on Tuesday, June 25 from 6pm-8pm. Bring the kids out for a night of fun activities in the park! Our Buildings & Grounds Department has certainly been busy actively beautifying and enhancing our parks and facilities. I truly do hope that you will share in my excitement as we continue to reinvest in ourselves.
With summer officially here, it's crucial that we continue to look out for our seniors and vulnerable neighbors, especially during heat waves such as what we are experiencing now. Please take a moment to check on them and ensure they are staying cool and hydrated.
As we have been enhancing throughout this year, we are proud to continue our strong partnership with the Wappinger Patrol of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office to enhance safety throughout our town. Their vigilant presence during these warm months ensures that our community remains secure and peaceful.
As we embark on this summer journey together, I wish each of you a fantastic start to the season. Let's make the most of these warm days ahead and continue to strengthen the bonds that make Wappinger a wonderful place to live.
See you around Town, Town Supervisor Joseph D. Cavaccini
