Horseshoe Farm Dedication

On Tuesday, November 10th, 2015 at 10:30 AM, the City of Raleigh will celebrate the dedication of Horseshoe Farm Nature Preserve, Phase 1. The Preserve is located at 2900 Horse Shoe Farm Road, Wake Forest NC, 27587. Event guests are encouraged to carpool or ride their bike to the event due to limited parking. Parking for Neuse River Trail access is located at 200 Trailhead Lane, Raleigh and WRAL Soccer Complex, 7700 Perry Creek Road, Raleigh.

Wooten Meadows 

The Parks, Recreation and Greenway Advisory Board (PRGAB) will hold a public hearing on the Wooten Meadow Park Master Plan on Thursday, Nov. 12 at 6 p.m. in the Raleigh City Council Chambers, located at 222 West Hargett Street. The proposed park layout, along with design recommendations and findings to date will be presented at the hearing and open for public comment.

River Bend Public Workshop

The City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department will host the initial public workshop for the River Bend Park Master Plan on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Abbotts Creek Community Center, 9950 Durant Road, Raleigh, NC 27614. In 2012, the City purchased 24.97 acres north of the intersection of US Highway 401 and Interstate 540 from the Developer of 5401 North as a potential neighborhood park site.

November Volunteer Newsletter

Join us for this year's Holiday Express as we transform Pullen Amusement Park into a Holiday Wonderland where participants can enjoy lights/displays, train rides, carousel rides, arts and crafts, and a visit with Santa. This event is presented by the Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources and the Crabtree Rotary Club.

Volunteers are needed December 3-6 and 10-13 from 3pm-9pm each night.

Our annual Frostbite Doubles Tournament will be held at Millbrook Exchange Tennis Center on December 4-6. This is a great family event where juniors can play in an adult division with a parent/adult 18 or older.
