National County Government Month is coming up in April. To kick-start the celebration, the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners have provided warm messages about Ramsey County's vision and mission, emphasizing community, diversity and equity. Watch the messages.

Severe Weather Awareness Week is April 8-12. Join Ramsey County Emergency Management & Homeland Security in preparing for severe weather season by reviewing safety and awareness tips each day this week.

The Youth Job and Resource Fair is on April 20 at the Maplewood Mall. Local employers are eager to meet youth ages 15-18!


Green Ramsey Expo & Career Fair

Attend the Green Ramsey Expo and Career Fair and meet organizations whose missions include recycling, creating green space, environmental clean-up and more! Learn about and apply for green collar careers in emerging industries, as well as conventional businesses and trades who have shifted to more sustainable practices.


Lifeguard certification courses are now open through April

With summer on the horizon, the lifeguard hiring season is in full swing, prompting the announcement of the Lifeguard Certification Courses for 2024. Individuals interested in bolstering safety at local pools and beaches are encouraged to act swiftly due to limited spots.


What's happening in Community Economic & Development?

Critical Repair Grant Program for homeowners

Ramsey County, in partnership with Community Action Partnership of Ramsey and Washington Counties (CAPRW), is offering $5,000 grants to homeowners in need of critical repairs. The Critical Repair Grant Program provides eligible owners of single-family homes in Suburban Ramsey County grants for health, safety and code repairs. Single-family homeowners must be 80% Area Median Income or below to qualify. For more information call 651-603-5935 or email chrp@caprw.org.​

New opportunity to grow your small business

Ramsey County, in collaboration with Hennepin County, announced the application opening for CEO Now. This program offers growth-minded small business owners an opportunity to learn, amongst their peers, and complete the program with an expanded professional network, a three-year strategic road map and the confidence to take their next steps forward. Former Military Member Support Event

Veterans Services is hosting a Former Military Member Support Event on April 9 at the Saint Paul Opportunity Center. During this event, Veterans staff and partners will help former military members get screened for housing vouchers and subsidies, assist with employment search, and apply for benefits and public assistance. In partnership with Catholic Charities Twin Cities, Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans, Every Third Saturday, Veterans Health Administration (VHA) - U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

On My Terms offers more options for sexual violence survivors

There are now more options for reporting sexual violence in Ramsey County. Saint Paul – Ramsey County Public Health’s SOS Sexual Violence Services has partnered with the Saint Paul Police Department to give survivors more control on how, when and to whom their assault is reported through the On My Terms program.


Earth Day: The Mighty Mississippi River Clean-up Challenge

Join us for the Mighty Mississippi River Clean-Up Challenge on Saturday, April 20, from 10 a.m. to noon at Battle Creek Regional Park. Gather with fellow community members at the pavilion, located at 2401 Upper Afton Road, Maplewood, MN 55119, as we unite in a collective effort to maintain the health and cleanliness of our beloved Mississippi River.


METRO Gold Line BRT construction

METRO Gold Line BRT construction will affect multiple roads in Ramsey County this month. Lasting until fall 2024, there are closures off Interstate 94 (I-94) at White Bear Avenue, Old Hudson Road at Sun Ray Shopping Center and I-94 at Johnson Parkway.
