Successful managers possess abilities to plan, implement and measure goals. Even more importantly, managers must be able to engage employees through clear direction, communication, performance expectations and improvement strategies. ELD’s managerial skills courses are designed to support development in all of these key areas for Minnesota state government. Our November courses will focus on improving your competencies to inspire, motivate and develop others as well as providing essential communication and interpersonal skills. These course can also help you fulfill the Administrative Procedure 21, which requires employees to take a total of eighty (80) hours of training within their first year as a manager.
Develop a solid foundation in the key management functions of planning, organizing, leading and controlling. Learn to manage priorities, time and meetings effectively. Set goals, establish standards, delegate tasks and measure performance to achieve results.
