New Interactive Breastfeeding Data on the WIC Website
Monthly and Quarterly WIC Breastfeeding data
A new interactive web page has replaced the “Breastfeeding during COVID” information sheet on the WIC website. Refer to our webpage WIC Reports and Data and under Breastfeeding look for Monthly and Quarterly WIC Breastfeeding Rates (Interactive Data). This tracks breastfeeding at initiation and at 2 months of age for infants certified within 60 days of birth. We are reporting statewide rates monthly, and rates quarterly by location (county, community health board or region), or by race, ethnicity, and cultural identity.
WIC Breastfeeding by Race Alone or in Combination with Other Races (AOIC)
The WIC Reports and Data webpage also has information on WIC Breastfeeding by Race Alone or in Combination with Other Races (AOIC) and is now available in an interactive format that allows the user to request data by location, year(s) and category (initiation and multiple duration timepoints.
Celebrating 2023 National Nutrition Month
March is National Nutrition Month®, an annual nutrition education and information campaign led by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The campaign brings attention to the importance of informed food choices and developing healthful eating and physical activity habits. This year’s theme, Fuel for the Future, highlights the importance of fueling our bodies at every age and eating with sustainability in mind. Sustainable eating is choosing foods that are helpful for the planet and our bodies.
