Agency IT staff are asked to email the SSIS Help Desk two weeks prior to making firewall and password changes, or changing out an agency server, in order to coordinate any needed updates for fiscal interfaces.
Fiscal interfaces are used for payment batches as well as vendor import. If there is no communication between SSIS and the agency accounting system, payment batches and vendors will not be updated.
This notification information should also be used for any changes made to the OpenLink server.
Images are not supported in SSIS text fields, including the new RTF expanded editor impacted screens which include:
- Intake | Description of Need
- Adult Maltreatment Report | Description of Incident
- Child Maltreatment Report | Description of Incident
- Contact/Activity and associated Time Note
- Case Note
While users may have been able to add and then view images in both the unexpanded and expanded editors previous to the V22.3 release, often these would disappear or not be available to view later and they were never available for print preview or printing. The ability to add images directly to the expanded editor has been removed in this new version to avoid further confusion.
The SSIS claiming interface will be unavailable September 1 - 2, 2022, for MN-ITS annual password updates which allow claiming interfaces to continue between SSIS and MMIS. The effect on agencies should be minimal. Normal operation of the claiming interface will resume once an “all clear” has been given.
This process only changes SSIS user accounts for county MN-ITS mailboxes. Agency users have their own user IDs and passwords to access their MN-ITS mailboxes that are not affected by the SSIS password change.
Questions regarding this process should be directed to the SSIS Help Desk.
The SSIS Business Section at DHS would like to extend special thanks to Dakota County SSIS users for piloting SSIS v22.3. Dakota County staff were amazing and helped identify and resolve issues before the statewide release.

In SSIS, User Settings, User Grid Settings, and User Spelling Settings can be adjusted to display items in a certain way. It is recommended that workers back up their user settings in SSIS prior to each new release to ensure settings are not lost. The process is easy and only takes a few minutes. Instructions to back up user settings in SSIS can be found here.
We are asking that agencies begin updating the Horizon Client from the current versions you are on to Horizon 8 – Client 2111. Included is a link for step by step instructions where to find this version and how to download it for users. This document is also available on the SSIS Resource page with the other Horizon migration documentation.
We do not have a set date that this needs to be completed at this time, however, we are asking that agencies start working with your IT and the users to update to this new version so when a date is provided, the work has already begun. Please contact the SSIS Help Desk with any questions.
