SSIS Update

Issue 512

8/12/2019

In this issue:

Legally and financially responsible agency roles

The SSIS Help Desk has been receiving calls about the differences between legally responsible and financially responsible agency requirements. Here is a link to our resource document including an overview of the legally and financially responsible roles under Northstar Care for Children. This document includes definitions, explanations of the case record in SSIS, the placement, case planning and permanency process, the MAPCY, the payments, the adoptive and kinship placements, the eligibility for adoption assistance and kinship assistance, and the benefit agreements for adoption assistance and kinship assistance.

Saving and restoring user settings

In SSIS, User Settings, User Grid Settings and User Spelling Settings can be adjusted to display items in a certain way. Prior to each new release, we recommended that workers back up their user settings in SSIS to ensure that they are not lost. It is easy to do and only takes a few minutes. Click the following link for instructions on Backing up your user settings in SSIS.

SSIS to restore mistakenly deleted Active Efforts records

Last month, SSIS deleted confusing ICWA records that were created by the system based on the answer to the “Qualifies under ICWA” question (see the article in the SSIS Update Issue 510). SSIS was unaware that some users had created associated Active Efforts records, which were mistakenly deleted as well. SSIS has identified and will restore all Active Efforts records that were deleted during this process, even if there is no substantial data in these records. The associated ICWA record will also be restored. Not all agencies have records to restore. This work will be completed by Friday, August 16th.

New SSIS documentation available

Our SSIS trainers recently posted new job aids to the SSIS Worker Documentation page. As the team continues to develop new job aids, we welcome your questions and feedback. Please connect with Eric Kratt, Lead SSIS Trainer or Heide Moris, SSIS Fiscal and Worker Mentor Coordinator.

The next SSIS Repository upload will be August 26, 2019 for agencies that are not yet centralized.
