City of Minneapolis Employment and Training

City of Minneapolis Employment and Training administers a variety of employment and training programs under the direction of the Mayor, City Council, and Minneapolis Workforce Council. To learn more about specific programs click on the following links:

  • Minneapolis Works 
    Assistance finding a job for low-income, Minneapolis residents ages 18 and older.
  • Minneapolis Youth Works
    Assistance with high school completion, work preparation or employment goals for Minneapolis Youth ages 14-21.
  • Dislocated Worker Program
    Comprehensive services for those who have lost their job through no fault of their own for adult ages 18 and older.
  • Train to Career
    Job-skills training in a select occupation in demand for low-income, Minneapolis residents.

There are two WorkForce Centers located in Minneapolis. Each offers a knowledgeable staff to guide you and provides essential tools to make your job search a success. Best of all, most services are free of charge. Services include, but are not limited to:
