Current Common Questions
Why can’t private school student teachers receive the Stipend?
The MI Future Educator Stipend is appropriated with School Aid Funds. The Blaine Amendment of 1970 prohibits School Aid Funds from being paid to private elementary and secondary schools.
For the MI Fellowship, why are students telling us their awards are ready to confirm?
Eligible applicants receive the following message after submitting their application.
In a ‘normal’ semester, these statements will not cause issue as eligible students will be immediately presented to institutions’ financial aid offices for confirmation of eligibility, which will then prompt the Commitment to Teach in Michigan Agreement e-sign request.
