Disaster Preparedness

The best way to predict the future is to plan for it.  The City of Troy has a privileged geographical location when it comes to exposure to natural disasters.  However, businesses and residents alike still need to be prepared for our share of natural elements that affect our sites and buildings.

The Troy Building Department would like to share information with you to help increase the safety and well-being of Troy businesses, residents and the general public.  The Snow Load Safety Guide and FEMA Snow Load Safety Guidance Fact Sheet documents, published by FEMA, provide valuable information regarding these important safety issues.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security can help you plan ahead for a diverse number of potential disaster scenarios at https://www.ready.gov/.
