In Academic Year 2025-26, the Office of Higher Education will be sending a month end GovDelivery recapping the communications shared that month. This is not an exhaustive list and we encourage you to review all previous messages.
- An update in MiSSG has been made to correct students who appeared as eligible for Michigan Achievement Scholarship with a grade level 1, 2, or 3 who indicated they will have their first bachelor's degree at the start of the academic year on their FAFSA.
- This impacted Academic Year 2025-26 and/or 2026-27 records. Impacted students now appear ineligible.
- The Paying for College in Michigan website has been updated.
- Help us spread the word about this tool. It was created in collaboration with our college access partners.
- Join the Office of Higher Education for an informational Webinar on the enhanced MiSSG Student Portal. This informative session will be held on Wednesday, January 28 from 10:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. for high school counselors and financial aid administrators.
- Effective Winter/Spring 2026, student teachers must meet both of the following criteria to qualify for a MI Future Educator Stipend award:
- Be enrolled full-time in student teaching coursework, and
- Complete a minimum of 300 student contact hours.
- Students must be participating full-time in a required student teaching experience (also called an internship), in a Michigan public school or public-school academy. This student teaching experience must be the supervised, clinical capstone experience that requires a minimum of 300 student contact hours.
- Due to the upcoming holidays and State office closure, MI Future Educator Stipend payments will be adjusted.
