We are excited to announce, effective December 1, 2023 MI Student Aid (also known as Student Scholarships, Grant and Outreach) has been moved from the Michigan Department of Treasury to the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential (MiLEAP). This new department will focus on early learning and higher education to improve long-term student outcomes, develop talent to fill in-demand jobs, and grow the economy. The Governor announced Michelle Richard as MiLEAP's acting director.
Although our work with you and your students and families won't change, this is an exciting opportunity for MI Student Aid and the Office of Sixty by 30 who will both now be working together for the Office of Higher Education in MiLEAP.

Each year in November, MI Student Aid receives a data file from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) containing the names of new students eligible for the Tuition Incentive Program (TIP). The TIP Data file has been received and over 120,000 new student records were uploaded! High School Counselors are encouraged to log into the MiSSG High School Counselors Portal and view their TIP student lists, as new students may now be eligible! And don't forget to utilize the TIP qualifying Student Letter available in the MiSSG High School Counselor Portal. Go to Print TIP qualifying Students 9th-12th grade.
MI Data Sharing Center provides the public with access to aggregate Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and Tuition Incentive Program (TIP) student by high school for known Michigan high school seniors.
MI Data Dashboards are now available for various student aid programs offered by the State of Michigan.
The Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential is not affiliated with National Merit Scholarship Corporation or its registered trademarks National Achievement®, Achievement Scholarship®, or Achievement Scholar®.
