November 2024 hunting and trapping opportunities
Online harvest reporting is required for all hunters who successfully take a deer. You can report your deer through the DNR Hunt Fish app or at Michigan.gov/DNRHarvestReport.
Archery deer season: open through Nov. 14 and Dec. 1 – Jan. 1, 2025.

- Archery deer hunters in the Lower Peninsula have the option to harvest antlerless deer with their deer or deer combo license.

In the Upper Peninsula, during the archery season, hunters can take an antlerless deer with either a deer or deer combo license, except in deer management units 007, 031, 042, 048, 066, 127 and 131 (antlerless harvest is closed during all seasons) and deer management units 017, 027, 036, 117, 149, 152, 249, 252 and 349, where antlerless harvest with a deer or deer combo license is closed after Dec. 10 in the late archery season.
Firearm deer season: Nov. 15-30.

Pheasant (male only):
- Zone 2 and 3: open through Nov. 14.
- A $25 pheasant license is required for all hunters 18 years old and older to hunt pheasants on any public land in the Lower Peninsula or on lands enrolled in the Hunting Access Program. See the Small Game Hunting Regulations Summary for exceptions.
Pheasants are being released on 13 state game/wildlife areas throughout southern Michigan this fall. Releases will take place through Nov. 14 on 13 areas and Dec. 1-31 on 10 areas, coinciding with pheasant hunting season. Directions to parking areas are available on the pheasant release webpage. Hunt at Wetland Wonders
Michigan's Wetland Wonders are the premier managed waterfowl hunt areas in the state. These areas were created to provide exceptional waterfowl hunting opportunities, and are managed to provide waterfowl habitat for nesting and migration and for the benefit of other wetland wildlife. Since the beginning, the areas have been funded by hunting license fees and area use fees, but they are open for anyone to visit, use and enjoy most of the year.

Fall turkey hunting is open through Nov. 14.
Check out which hunt units have leftover licenses. Buy your turkey license through the DNR Hunt Fish app to try out the new electronic harvest tags. Licenses purchased online at eLicense or in-store will receive paper tags.
You can buy one fall turkey license a day until quotas are met. Find a place to hunt at a Turkey Tract or other public land at Michigan.gov/Turkey.
Michigan’s wild turkey cooperator patch program is coordinated by the Michigan chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation, in partnership with the DNR. Adult hunters, collectors and other interested individuals may purchase the patch for $7 online, including postage and handling. Youth hunters, 17 years old and younger, who have a valid wild turkey hunting license may get a free patch. |

The Michigan Bear Hunters Association, in partnership with the DNR, coordinates Michigan’s bear cooperator patch program. Proceeds from patch sales will be used for black bear education and outreach.
