MI Healthy Climate Corps participants to welcome first corps members in March
EGLE initiative focuses on MI Healthy Climate Plan goals, workforce development
The launch of the MI Healthy Climate Corps (MHC Corps) is getting closer. Soon, the first cohorts of federal AmeriCorps members will spread out across Michigan in support of climate action. Plans are advancing with the selection of the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan (CEDAM) as an operator for the program, new details of the planned rollout, and an upcoming webinar for those interested in participating in or supporting the corps. The corps’ aim is to leverage state and federal investments to further goals of the MI Healthy Climate Plan. Corps members can serve with hosts in state agencies, tribal governments, local governments, or nonprofit organizations to build capacity across the state, helping to guide federal and state resources and support to communities and people who need it most. Call for Abstracts for the 2024 MI Healthy Climate Conference
You are invited to submit an abstract for the 2024 MI Healthy Climate Conference, taking place May 16-17, 2024, in Lansing. We are seeking diverse speakers and student poster presenters to share their work and learn from others in advancing the goals of the MI Healthy Climate Plan.
Building on the success of last year’s conference, the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) is hosting this two-day conference to continue the mobilization of engaged stakeholders and review the actions being taken around the state to implement the goals in the Plan. This year's conference is expected to draw more than 500 attendees from local, state, federal, and tribal governments, universities, nonprofits, community groups, and businesses.
