Attention all MI Materials Management Partners
EGLE NEEDS YOUR HELP!
The Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) recently launched an initiative to collect municipality and county materials management program data, called Mega Data.
How can you help?
SHARE THIS BULLETIN WITH YOUR MEMBERS!
Has your county or municipality completed this data collection process???
Partners can help by urging their county and municipal contacts to enter their materials management information through the Mega Data Collection Project by including this message in your outreach efforts, such as: newsletters, emails, website, and bulletins AND by following and sharing EGLE’s message on social media platforms like Twitter and LinkedIn.
To report, municipalities will use Emerge’s nation-wide data collection tool, the Municipal Measurement Program (eMMP), while county data is being collected through the County Measurement Program (CRMP). This information will be critical for materials management coordinators when they are asked to enter information for developing future materials management efforts, including updates to the County Planning Process. EGLE will also use the data to help expand reuse, recycling, composting, and other waste diversion activities across Michigan.
Communities that have not already reported are encouraged to submit an application to participate in the survey. Just watch EGLE's new, short video that provides a step-by-step guide on how to be part of the Mega Data Collection Project.
Sharing this information provides direct benefits to participating counties and municipalities. For more information on these programs and their benefits, check out these additional materials for counties and municipalities.
