Cold Temperature Monitoring Update

Beginning the week of March 18th, the McKesson Distribution Center temporarily began shipping refrigerated coolers using one of two different cold temperature indicator cards.

Coolers may contain the FREEZEmarker (FigureA) indicator card or a new indicator card called TransTracker (Figure B). Both indicator cards include the same temperature indicator that is currently being used. The only difference is the indicator card itself. Providers will not receive both monitors in the same cooler.

Providers should follow the same process for checking any temperature excursions by using the directions in Figure A.

Routine Immunizations on Schedule for Everyone (RISE)

Let’s RISE is a CDC initiative to provide actionable strategies, resources, and data to support getting all Americans back on-schedule with their routine immunizations to protect everyone from vaccine-preventable disease and disability.

Routine vaccine dropped for children and adults during the pandemic. Since then routine vaccination has begun to improve, but has not recovered among all groups. Many children and adults that delayed vaccination during the pandemic are still behind schedule. It is important to take steps now to help get everyone back on schedule with their routine immunizations. With the increase in measles outbreaks across the country, providers should be vigilant in ensuring children and adults receive their recommended MMR vaccines. Children, teens and adults can still catch up on vaccinations even if they start late.

Check out these fact sheets for an overview of what CDC data tell us about the state of routine vaccination.
